BCA Clubs from Three TU Campuses Issue Joint Statement Against Government Vacancy Discrimination

Last Updated on by ICT Byte

The IT/BCA Clubs of Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus (RR), Prithvi Narayan Campus (PN), and Mechi Multiple Campus (MMC) have released a joint statement condemning the recent exclusion of Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) graduates from government job vacancies due to faculty classification issues.

The BCA program, affiliated with Tribhuvan University, is a nationally recognized degree designed to equip students with modern skills in computer science and information technology. However, recent government vacancy announcements have sparked concern within the academic community by failing to recognize BCA as a qualifying degree for IT-related posts.

In their official statement, the clubs have urged the concerned authorities to:

  • Recognize BCA as a technical and IT-focused academic program.
  • Guarantee equal opportunities for BCA graduates in IT-related government positions.
  • Amend future government vacancy criteria to explicitly include BCA or equivalent qualifications.

The student bodies emphasized their collective commitment to defending the rights, recognition, and professional dignity of BCA students and graduates across Nepal.
