A formal partnership has been established between Ubuntu Nepal and the Center for Cyber Security Research and Innovation (CSRI) Nepal to promote open-source technology and cybersecurity in Nepal. The partnership was officially signed on Sunday in Kathmandu, with both organizations announcing the joint hosting of the UbuCon Asia 2025 virtual conference. The conference will take place on August 30-31, 2025 (Bhadra 13-14 in the Nepali calendar).

During the signing ceremony, both organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement was signed by Aditya Singh, on behalf of Ubuntu Nepal, and Dr. Shaligram Parajuli, President of CSRI, along with Dr. Bhoj Raj Ghimire, CSRI Secretary General. The initiative was launched under the leadership of Chiranjibi Adhikari, the founder and chairman of CSRI.

This collaboration and understanding are not limited to the conference alone but are also expected to play a crucial role in the long-term development of Nepal’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. The partnership aims to strengthen the open-source and cybersecurity fields in Nepal.

As part of the agreement, CSRI will be recognized as a Community Partner for UbuCon Asia 2025, with its logo and branding prominently featured across various platforms.
