Disney+ Hotstar Takes a Stand Against Password Sharing, Following Netflix’s Lead

Disney+ Hotstar is making a big change for its users. They’re going to stop people from sharing their passwords. They sent an email to their Canadian customers telling them about this change. Starting from November 1, they won’t allow account sharing.

Disney hasn’t given all the details on how they’ll do this, but they’re serious about it. They said they’ll have strict rules against sharing accounts, even outside of your home.

To make sure people follow this rule, Disney+ Hotstar will keep an eye on what users are doing with their accounts. If someone breaks the rule, they might limit or close the account.

These changes are starting in Canada on November 1, and it might happen in other countries, like India, too. This change is similar to what Netflix did earlier this year to stop password sharing. It looks like more streaming services are doing this to make sure people pay for their own accounts.
