Before you enable the auto-reply feature you must set up the message to act as your automatic response. The steps to set automatic response are:
- Go to https://mail.google.com/mail
- Click on the gear icon and select settings
- You can find advanced in the menu, select Enable next to Canned Responses (Templates).
- Click save changes.
After you set the Canned response , you can click compose to create a new email . There you have to type the message that you want to set as automatic reply. After you set the message ,click on menu i.e 3 dots in the window to bring the email option. From there select Canned responses and then select New canned responses.
Setup a Gmail Auto Reply!
Once you have set your auto-reply response email, now you are ready to auto-response to specific emails. Here are steps to do so:-
- Click on the gear icon and select setting.
- After you click on setting, you can see Filters and blocked addresses click on that and select create a new filter.
- On the next window, choose the rule you like to apply for the Gmail filter. After you are finished, click Create filter
- On the next screen that appears, check the box having text Send a canned response and choose the canned response you created.
- Finally, click on Create filter and you are done
