Here is what you need to do if you get missed calls by unknown numbers from foreign countries.

Many people from Nepal nowadays are getting missed calls from the unknown numbers. And interestingly, the missed calls are from foreign countries. Also, it is heard that they are also getting messages in their phone numbers.

Regarding this problem, Nepal Telecommunication Authority has released a notice.

What is in the notice from Nepal Telecommunication Authority?

The notice from NTA clearly states that,

  • Don’t call back the unknown phone number from foreign country.
  • These types of missed calls are called one-ring scam.
  • Service providers like Nepal Telecom, NCELL are already instructed to prevent these types of scam.

If you don’t call back those numbers, it will be safe for you. So, dont’t reply to their calls as well as message.

What should you do if you get one-ring scam?

  • Never call back an unknown number.
  • Don’t send SMS to those numbers.
  • Inform to NTA via info@nta.gov.np
