National ICT Scholarship worth 2 crores to 49 students announced: Here’s how you can apply.

Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation) recently announced the National ICT Scholarship worth 2 crores. CAN Federation has partnered with Lord Buddha Education Foundation (LBEF) campus for this scholarship.

CAN Federation has been providing this scholarship since last two years and the application form for this years ICT scholarship has also opened.

The scholarship will be awarded to study BSc. (Hons.) in Information Technology in LBEF Campus. This scholarship is provided for students who have completed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board or has completed Diploma in Computer Engineering from CTEVT.

There are a total of 49 scholarship schemes worth 2 crores that will be provided this year. Some scholarship schemes are directly targeted to girl students so they can benefit heavily from the National ICT Scholarship scheme.

A total of 28 scholarships will be provided to girl students from the Female Merit ICT Scholarship and the rest of the 21 scholarships under the ICT Merit Scholarship is accessible to both boys and girls.

A scholarship worth Rs. 12,229,000 to 28 girl students under three different sub-categories will be provided under the Female Merit ICT Scholarship.

Scholarships worth Rs. 6,720,000 to 21 students under two different sub-categories will be provided under the ICT Merit Scholarship which is open to all students.

With these scholarships, the total amount of scholarship adds up to Rs. 18,949,000.

For the Female Merit ICT Scholarship, 4 candidates from each province will be selected for the scholarship. Similarly, for the ICT Merit Scholarship, 3 candidates from each province will be selected.

Note: In the official notice from LBEF regarding National ICT Scholarship, there seems to have been some typing error, as the number of scholarships for the Saathi scholarship is just 7 on the which actually needs to be 14 to able to meet the scholarship amount of 39,90,000 as well as a total of 49 scholarships. Therefore, we have corrected the number in the above table.

Who are eligible for the National ICT Scholarship?

 Students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination (Grade XI & XII) are eligible for this award.
Also, students who have appeared for Grade 12 examination and awaiting results can also apply.
Students must have scored more than 50% marks in Mathematics in Grade-X level as well.

How will the candidate for the National ICT Scholarship be selected?

The candidate for the National ICT Scholarship will be selected by a committee formed by the CAN Federation.

What documents do I need during form submission?

You need to upload the following documents while submitting your form for the scholarship:
– Photo
– A recommendation letter from the local authority
– Your Birth Certificate
– Scanned copy of Grade-XI & XII Marks Card
– Scanned copy of Grade-X Marks Card
– Admit card of Grade-XII (Incase of Grade-XII exam appearing students)
