On April 7, 2024, CAN Federation joined a meeting with the National Information Commission to talk about giving people the right to know things, called the Right to Information (RTI). Important people like Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari, Ms. Rina Shrestha, and Mr. Bikrant Karki from CAN Federation led the discussion. They had some good ideas to make RTI better in our country.

Giving Suggestions: CAN Federation shared ideas with the National Information Commission on how to make RTI work better.
Asking for Opinions: They also wanted to hear from others about how well the meeting went. They think it’s important to get feedback from everyone to make things better next time.
Sharing Success Stories: CAN Federation suggested telling stories about how RTI has helped people. They also suggested making a big database of information that people can easily use. And if anyone needs help with the technical stuff, CAN Federation is ready to lend a hand.
Making Complaints Easier: They said it should be easy for people to complain if something is wrong. They suggested putting complaint boxes online so anyone can file a complaint easily.
Working Together: CAN Federation thinks it’s important for everyone to work together. They want to set up a place where different groups can talk and share ideas about RTI.
Teaching RTI in Schools: They also think kids should learn about RTI in school so they know their rights and responsibilities.
Using the Internet: CAN Federation said we should use the internet to tell more people about RTI. They want to use websites and social media to spread the word.
Fighting Fake News: Lastly, they want to stop fake news from spreading. They plan to teach people how to tell if something is true or not and share reliable information.
