Design

Apple HomePod mini is the mini version of the Standard Apple HomePod speaker that shrinks down the original model into a more compact size. With no change in design and somewhat like orange shape the new mini speaker is 3.3 inches high (84.3 mm) ( which is less than half the height of the standard HomePod) and 3.9 inches (97.9 mm) wide with 0.76 pounds (345 grams) weight. It is available in two colors Space Grey and white, with a mesh fabric exterior.

Audio Technology

To achieve big sound with high quality out of such a compact and mini design, the Apple S5 chip in HomePod mini is integrated with advanced software that serves to analyze and optimize the sound. For deep bass and crisp high frequencies, the mini speaker has a full-range driver and dual force-canceling passive radiators. It is capable of Stereo pair.

To allow customers to place HomePod mini almost anywhere in a room and hear a consistent sound, it features an Apple-designed acoustic waveguide to direct the flow of sound for an immersive 360-degree audio experience.

Also, the mini speaker has total of four microphones. In which three-microphone array that listens for far-field Siri and a fourth one is inward-facing microphone helps isolate sound coming from the speaker to improve voice detection when music is on play.

With the help of Siri’s intelligence, HomePod mini provides a deeply integrated and personalized experience for iPhone users. Siri can identify who is speaking and tailor podcasts and music according to their preferences, and also respond to personal requests.
