WhatsApp will no longer be supported on 50 devices this year, including the Apple iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C. Other devices on the list include those from Samsung, Huawei, LG, Sony, Lenovo, and ZTE. These phones have not been updated in a while, and as a result, WhatsApp will no longer be able to run on them.
In order to continue using WhatsApp, users of these devices will need to either upgrade to a newer phone or update the operating system to a version that is supported by WhatsApp, such as Android 5.0 Lollipop or iOS 12. It should be noted that WhatsApp’s FAQ states that support is available for Android phones with 4.1 and newer operating systems, but at the end of this year, WhatsApp will stop working on most phones with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Many entry-level and mid-range smartphones are included on this list.
