Whatsapp is a popular app across the world that is owned by Meta company. Meta releases update for WhatsApp over time for user convenience and security reason. The application is developed to operate on specific operating systems on different devices. Recently Meta has announced another update release where WhatsApp will support Android v5.0 or above OS – resulting in the end of the service of Whatsapp for devices earlier than Android v5.0.

Before this update WhatsApp ran on Android v4..1 and later, iOS 12 and newer, and Kai 2.5.0 and later. However, from October 24, 2023, WhatsApp will only function on Android v5.0 and above.

Also, WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called Webchannel. This feature allows users to follow celebrities, groups, and communities. Meta has launched this feature in 150 countries. Does your country fall under it?
