Facebook will now remind people to wear face masks. COVID-19 cases are still on the rise and many people are seen being careless these days.
Facebook will add messaging to its top of the News Feed and Instagram’s feed to encourage people to wear face masks, as officially announced on thurdsay.
An alert or pop up will appear at the top of feed on Insta and Facebook that directs users to the COVID-19 Information Center, and they will have links to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for more information.
On Wednesday, the US set a additional 50,000 new cases in a single-day record.And as of Thursday the US has total of more than 2.7 million cases of COVID-19, and more than 128,000 people have died.So, the company says this new move of reminding people is in response to this rapid increasement of new cases in US.
Use of masks reduce the transmission of respiratory droplets that may spread the virus in the body.So, CDC is recommending people to wear masks in public spaces to protect others from possible infection.
The mask prompts will begin appearing on Instagram and Facebook later , the Facebook company said.
