Apple has designed its own “Apple Face Mask” that the employees will use during this Covid-19 pandemic. This is a custom face mask is designed by Apple’s Engineering and Industrial Design teams. This Apple Face Mask uses three layers of materials to filter particles.
In addition, Apple has also bought special clear masks from a third-party distributor which is the first completely clear surgical mask to be approved by the FDA. This clear mask will be very useful for someone who is deaf or hard of hearing. With the use of this clear mask, they will be able to lipread what the employee is saying.
The new Apple Face Mask can be washed and reused up to 5 times. Bloomberg reported that Apple had conducted careful research and testing so that they can find the right materials for the mask’s filters. The mask has a triangular shape to accommodate the nose as well as prevent fogging of glasses, a rounded section to fit the chin along with an adjustable string for the ears.
“The Apple Face Mask is made up of three layers to filter incoming and outgoing particles. It can be washed and reused as many as five times, the company told employees. In typical Apple style, the mask looks unique with large coverings on the top and bottom for the wearer’s nose and chin. It also has adjustable strings to fit around a person’s ears.“

Apple will start distributing these Apple Face Mask to its employees in the course of two weeks. They are also working to create their own clear masks in the near future.
It is still unclear as to if the Apple Face Masks will be available for the general people as well. Currently, they are distributing the mask to its employees only.
