Nepal Aims to Become Information Technology Hub, Says Finance Minister

During the budget presentation for the financial year 2081/82 at the joint session of the Federal Parliament, Finance Minister Barshman Pun declared the government’s ambition to transform Nepal into a hub of information technology.

Minister Pun disclosed plans to export IT services worth 30 billion over the next decade, which is expected to generate 500,000 direct and 1000,000 indirect job opportunities.

Highlighting the pivotal role of information technology in the economy, Pun emphasized the promotion and regulation of artificial intelligence, signaling the government’s commitment to fostering the growth of this sector.
