Summers are hot and winters are cold so what if I told you that the problem of sweat and shivering can be solved? Yes, this problem can be solved by newly launched Sony’s Wearable Air Conditioner. Japanese tech titans have recently launched portable and wearable AC dubbed as ‘Reon Pocket’.
About
Reon Pocket uses the Peltier effect for maintaining the temperature of the body. Peltier effect is also known as the Thermoelectric effect which uses electricity to create temperature across two sides of the device, increasing in one and decreasing in another. This device can decrease the temperature by 23 degrees Fahrenheit on summer days and increase the temperature by 14 degrees Fahrenheit on cold days. Thus, this mini AC can turn in to a mini heater in winter and cooler in summer.
Design
This mini AC has all-white design, size about a card case, and weight about 80 grams. It seems a little bit bulky to wear but as it has less weight there won’t be a problem for the user.
Connectivity
The wearable air conditioner is supported by Bluetooth connectivity. It has its own app to control so it is compatible with either Android or iOS. The device can be controlled manually as well as kept in automatic mode. It has built-in motion sensors for keeping the perfect temperature in various conditions.
Battery Life
The battery life of this wearable air conditioner is about 90 mins and can charge fully in about two hours. It has a USB-C port.
Use
It fits neatly inside the pocket of the undershirt sold separately. The sizes available are small, medium, and large. White and beige are the colors available.
Price
Sony’s Wearable Air Conditioner costs $120 and extra $20 for the undershirt.
