UNICTS Nepal successfully organized “The First Step Towards Office Work” session

On Saturday, February 26th, 2022, UNICTS Nepal in association with Internship in Nepal successfully hosted a session titled “The First Step Towards Office Work” using the Virtual Platform Zoom. Over 35 individuals participated in this one-and-a-half-hour session, which ran from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

The event started by greeting the participants and the whole session was moderated by Sarina Sindurakar.The excitement of participants could be felt throughout the session, despite the constraints of an online medium.

The first speaker of the evening Khushal Regmi, a General Secretary of UNICTS took the platform and led a very interactive session by introducing UNICTS to all the participants. He also talked about the reason for the establishment of UNICTS.

Miss Rebekha Rai, Associate HR Manager at InfoDevelopers Pvt. Ltd., Merojob’s Human Resources Trainer and Communication, NLP practitioner, was the next notable speaker of the event. She provided a detailed and insightful session on what an internship is, why it is necessary, and do’s and don’ts in the internship with her outstanding presenting skills. She also discussed how internships have served as a bridge between academic and professional employment environments for students. She went over every detail of how to make the most out of every internship and what practical, theoretical, and social skills you should have that can make you best prepared for what is to come next. She also advised students to keep trying and apply for jobs or internships even if they aren’t any vacancies. She hinted that companies prioritize applications that have been submitted prior to opening vacancies.

The final Guest speaker of the session, was Miss Garima Khakurel, Software Associate at Kosi Collaborative as well as Head Office Member at Bridge Club International Organization (BCIO). She is also a former President of CSIT Association of Nepal (CSITAN) and former US Embassy Youth Council Nepal Member. She started by sharing her personal experiences regarding her first internship. She also highlighted tasks she did during her that period. According to her, students get opportunities to work in many projects during internships while also experiencing work environment which is great for learning and gaining experiences of your own.

At last, the session was formally ended by Assistant General Secretary Abhash Adhikari by thanking  every speaker and participant.
