eSewa receives ISO 27001:2013 certification

Nepal’s first online payment gateway, eSewa has received ISO 27001:2013 certification. This certification by ISO confirms that the service provided by the company is safe, secure, and has maintained quality.

What is ISO 27001:2013?


ISO 27001:2013 is an international standard that sets out the specification for an ISMS (information security management system) which specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving an information security management system of the organization. The aim of this standard is to help organizations make their information assets more secure.

Since it’s launch by F1Soft International in 2009, eSewa has been providing digital services to customers all over Nepal. It is licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank as a Payment Service Provider. Why is ISO important?

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is important for any company because it develops specifications for products, services, systems, and procedures by which they can measure a company’s level of excellence. A company cannot be considered standardized until it has got its ISO Certification.
