The Hult Prize team at IOE, Pulchowk Campus, organized an exciting workshop on Design Thinking as part of their Entrepreneurship Talk Series. The event took place at Embark College and attracted many curious students who wanted to learn how to think creatively and improve their business ideas.

The program started at 1:00 P.M. and was hosted by Simran Shrestha, a third-year student. The event began with a traditional Khada ceremony led by Riyaj Nepal, the Campus Director of Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus. After that, the main speaker, Mrs. Hima Bista, was introduced.

Mrs. Hima Bista is a well-known social worker and leader. She is the Executive Director of Women LEAD Nepal, an organization that helps young women become leaders. She has also worked with groups like Possible | Nyaya Health Nepal and DFID Nepal to improve healthcare and support gender equality. Additionally, she is the co-founder of Achaar Ghar: House of Pickles, a successful business that started as a family project.

During the workshop, Mrs. Bista shared her life story and explained how she used design thinking to solve problems and build her career. She talked about the importance of understanding one’s background and using empathy to connect with others. “Empathy helps us understand people’s needs and come up with better ideas,” she said.

Participants also got to take part in fun activities, like building creative designs with Legos and writing down their thoughts to reflect on their thinking process. These activities helped everyone practice creative problem-solving in a hands-on way.

The event included a lively Q&A session where students asked questions and won prizes like discount coupons from Botanical Bites and Ralycos Nepal. Mrs. Bista was honored with gifts, including a handmade wooden token from CNC Kasthakala Nepal, a plant from The Plant Room Nepal, and a perfume from Call Me Aroma.

The workshop ended with a discussion on how to develop a mindset that can tackle challenges and find solutions. Mrs. Bista shared tips and tools to help participants think creatively and confidently in different situations.

The session was both fun and inspiring, leaving students with new ideas and skills to help them in their entrepreneurial journeys. The Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus, continues to encourage young minds to think big and make a difference through events like this.
