Prabin Baral Arrested for Sexual Harassment and Fraud Using Indrive City to City Service

Kathmandu police have arrested a 25-year-old man, Prabin Baral, for alleged sexual harassment and fraudulent activities through the Indrive City to City service. The case came to light when a female passenger booked a ride through the service, and Baral, after receiving her ride request, obtained her phone number and used social media platforms to harass her sexually.

Upon receiving the complaint, police swiftly initiated an investigation and located Baral in Ward No. 4 of Chandragiri Municipality, Kathmandu. He was taken into custody, and the Kathmandu District Court granted a five-day extension to detain him for further investigation.

Initial inquiries revealed that Baral had previously engaged in fraudulent activities by collecting advance payments from various individuals for the same service and then cutting off communication.

  • Address: Permanent resident of Narayani Municipality-4, Chitwan, currently residing in Balaju, Kathmandu.

b) Evidence Seized:

  • One mobile phone

Further investigation is ongoing at the District Police Office, Kathmandu.
