IGTV Announces Monetization for Creators

IGTV is known as Instagram TV which is a free app to share long-form videos. Whereas Instagram allows the publication of videos of up to 60 seconds, the new app IGTV has space for videos of up to one hour in length.
It has finally made a strong move to the content creators by announcing monetization partnerships.
IGTV’s Initial Monetization Offerings
There will be generally two kinds of offerings i.e badges and ads. They also noted that they will continue to expand their live shopping offers.
IGTV live badges is a badge that will be sold through Instagram live. Initially, they will be testing with a small group of creators. Viewers can choose the badges from 0.99 $ to 4.99 $.
Once a budget is bought it will be shown in front of a username and this will benefit a user to populate more comments than others.
Initially, they won’t be cut off of revenue but later they will move to a revenue-sharing model.
IGTV Ads and How they Will Appear?
Similarly, IGTV ads will be showing and monetized for an initial group of 200 approved creators. The ads will be from larger brand name advertisers like Sephora, Puma, etc.

Users will only see ads after clicking away from feed preview to full screen and it will be in IG typical vertical proportions and lasts up to 15 seconds.
The Rules of Monetization
There are certain rules and policies of monetization to follow to protect brand reputation. It is stricter than usual content policy.
There are rules related to behaviors, formats, and categories of the content types.
Specifically Banned Content Formats cannot be any of the following:
- static videos
- slideshows of images
- text montages
- static image polls
- embedded ads
- continuously looping videos
Categories that will contain any of the following categories in an inflammatory matter will also be prohibited, including:
- race
- gender
- nationality
- age
- politics
- ethnicity
- disabilities
- sexual orientation
- economic class
- religion
- Immigration
Can the Government or Political Entities Participate?
The answer to this is No, it cannot be used at all for monetization and any other miscommunication is not allowed that will be beyond the campaign finance rules.
