According to the Cyber Bureau, many individuals and groups are misusing technology to influence investigations into serious crimes on social media, including YouTube and TikTok, by uploading videos and photographs with misleading and false captions with the intention of influencing the most serious offense, spreading rumors and inciting society, and disrupting social harmony. Such conduct will be penalized under current legislation, according to Section 47 of the Electronic Transactions Act of 2063.

The Nepal Police Cyber Bureau has warned that action would be taken against anyone who uses technology to influence investigations into significant crimes on social media platforms such as YouTube and Tiktok.
