WalkCar: Scooter That Looks Like a Laptop With Wheels

Who would have thought even a few years back that you would actually carry your scooter on your backpack? A scooter that you could even carry around like a laptop, and then use it as a scooter when you feel like it. This has actually become possible and the reason behind it is the WalkCar.

WalkCar is a portable scooter by Cocoa Motors that is as small as a 13-inch laptop. Japanese Company Cocoa first introduced this scooter back in 2015. However, it is available for sale finally in 2020. The official site has announced that it has started sale from June 9, 2020. It is a scooter that you can even carry in your bag.

WalkCar Specifications review

When you lay the WalkCar on the ground, it has a height of just 74mm which is about the width of a modern smartphone. It has 4 wheels on it. The boarding surface has a self-healing paint coating which reduces damage. In addition, it also improves grip and enables stable running.

WalkCar Dimension

Another amazing specification about the WalkCar is its weight. The weight of WalkCar is just 2.9 Kgs which is incredible. The main body is made up of ‘carbon-material’ that realizes the ‘ultra-light weight’ and ‘supple running’ part of the scooter. The rear wheel frame uses the ‘ultra-super duralumin alloy’ that makes the scooter light and strong.

It also has a walk assist mode where it will move slowly in the speed as if you were walking.

The speed of the WalkCar depends on the mode you are using it in. The maximum speed of WalkCar is 16 km/h in sports mode, 10 km/h in normal mode, and 6 km/h in walk assist mode.

It has a 68 Wh Lithium-ion battery. The range of WalkCar is 7 km in normal mode and walk assist mode. However, the range decreases to 5 km on sports mode.

How to ride a WalkCar?

Riding WalkCar is very easy. There are four sensors built into the boarding surface. Using these sensors, you can control acceleration, deceleration, and bending. Also, it has another great feature where the scooter stops as soon as you get off it.

Although it might seem a bit pricey, it is a great alternative for short distances rather than using your car. You do not have to worry about parking it as well. In addition, you do not have to go through the hassle of getting your car out of the driveway for going to short destinations.
