Vivo has announced the 2020 version of Vivo Y51. Previously, Vivo had launched the Vivo Y51 back in 2015. The Vivo Y51 2020 has a better processor and larger display as compared to the 2015 model among many other upgrades to the 2015 model. The 2020 Vivo Y51 was announced on September 15, 2020. Vivo Y51 (2020) Overview
The phone has a dimension of 159.3 x 75.2 x 8.7 mm and weighs 186.7g. The newer Y51 comes with a modern design that replaces the huge bezel design that was in the 2015 model. The back of the smartphone comes with a gradient color combination that enhances the visuals of the smartphone. The new Y51 also gets multiple cameras at the back with a diamond cut-out shape compared to just a single camera in the 2015 model. The device is available in Mystic Black, Jazzy Blue, and Dreamy White color options.
The 2020 Y51 comes with a bigger display of 6.38 inches Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It has a 19.5:9 ratio (~404 ppi density). It has a notched display to accommodate the front-facing camera and also houses an under-screen fingerprint scanner for security.
Performance and Storage
The new 2020 Y51 is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset. It is a mid-range 11 nm SOC and is better than the Snapdragon 410 that was on the 2015 model. This phone comes with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage. You also have the option to expand the storage up to 256 GB using an external SD card. This device runs on the Funtouch 10 OS based on Android 10. It also has Adreno 610 GPU.
This device also comes with Vivo’s own Vivo Process Guardian technology that is s capable of predicting abnormalities triggered by third-party apps. This technology can repair these abnormalities even before it occurs with a 75% success rate and reaches up to an 80% success rate for some games. The smartphone can also pre-load games up to 20% faster by using AI.

The Vivo Y51 2020 comes equipped with a quad-camera setup at the back and a single camera on the front. The rear cameras are arranged in the shape of a diamond which gives it a unique look. The primary camera is a 48 MP f/1.8 camera. The other three cameras at the back include an 8 MP f/2.2 120˚ ultrawide camera, 2 MP f/2.4 macro camera, and a 2 MP f/2.4 depth camera. The front-facing selfie camera is a 16 MP f/2.0 camera. You can also record 1080p video @ 30fps from both the front and the rear camera of the device.
It comes with a 4500 mAh Li-Po battery coupled with a 18 watt fast charger which should provide good battery and charging performance. It has a 3.5 mm headphone jack and also has GPS and radio features.
