In a remarkable triumph, Team Visions, comprised of three adept students from Khwopa College of Engineering, has secured the prestigious Hult Prize at their alma mater. The competition, which unfolded on February 17, 2024, within the college premises, witnessed the participation of 12 teams, each vying to tackle the 2024 challenge themed “Unlimited.”

The Hult Prize, a globally recognized initiative, emboldens youthful innovators to conceive and launch sustainable enterprises aimed at addressing contemporary societal challenges. The 2024 challenge, “Unlimited,” envisioned a world where equal opportunities abound for all, irrespective of background, geographical location, or circumstances. Former USA President Bill Clinton unveiled this challenge during the Global Finals event held in Paris.

Team Visions captivated the judges with their groundbreaking proposal: a platform facilitating the connection between skilled homemakers and businesses to harness their potential and augment their earnings. The team’s comprehensive market analysis, robust business model, profound social impact, and polished presentation skills set them apart. As victors, they earn the coveted opportunity to represent Khwopa College of Engineering at the Hult Prize regional summit scheduled for June 2024. There, they will contend with teams from across the globe for a shot at progressing to the grand finals and seizing the USD 1 million grand prize.

This momentous event received generous sponsorship from Protozoa Host, a prominent web hosting and domain registration firm in Nepal, and Nomor Tech, specializing in digital marketing and software development. The distinguished panel of judges included industry luminaries such as Raj Bikram Maharjan, CEO and co-founder of Galli Maps, Nikita Jalan, CEO and co-founder of Petmama Nepal, Niraj Bhatta, co-founder and CEO of Bibaabo.com, and Jatin Bhusal, CEO and co-founder of Ester Nepal.

Abi Shrestha, Campus Director of Hult Prize at Khwopa College of Engineering, expressed profound pride in Team Visions and lauded all participants for their unwavering dedication to driving social change. Gratitude was also extended to sponsors, judges, mentors, volunteers, and the college administration for their invaluable support and guidance. It is hoped that this triumph will inspire countless more students to embark on entrepreneurial endeavors, thereby catalyzing positive transformations across the globe.
