The Nepal Electricity Authority NEA has decided to provide 20 percent discount for domestic consumers.
It will provide a discount on electricity tariff if they consume more electricity with electric induction stoves.
The NEA will be providing a discount on the electricity bill for Chaitra month (March-April) upto 150 units in the bill.
A meeting held under Chairmanship of Minister for Energy, Water resource and Irrigation Barshaman Pun decided and made this proposal with the NEA Board of Directors on Friday.
Minister pun said that the decision is made to provide relief to consumers to encourage induction stoves.
He also mentioned this discount is made to provide relief for economic activities. As many people have been rendered jobless and in weeklong lockdown state.
They are supporting the Government with this small act.
NEA has expected a loss of Rs 500 million through this implementation of the discount providing decision.
