Hult Prize Orientation at IOE Pulchowk Campus Ignites Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship

The IOE Pulchowk Campus buzzed with energy as students, faculty, and distinguished guests gathered for the much-anticipated Hult Prize Orientation Program, marking the launch of this year’s journey toward social innovation. The event, which began at noon, brought together changemakers eager to explore the 2024/2025 theme, “UNLIMITED!!”

The orientation kicked off with a traditional welcome, as Miss Riyaj Nepal, the Campus Director of Hult Prize at IOE Pulchowk, presented ceremonial Khadas to esteemed guests before lighting the Panas alongside her peers. Special guests Miss Subi Kaphle, National Coordinator of Hult Prize Nepal, and Miss Garima Shrestha, National Community Leader and a finalist at the Hult Prize Melbourne Summit, added gravitas to the proceedings with their inspirational speeches.

Miss Kaphle outlined the global impact of the Hult Prize, while Miss Shrestha shared her journey of redefining fashion, showcasing the transformative potential of innovative ideas. Their words left attendees motivated and eager to embrace the challenge of developing impactful solutions to pressing global issues.

The event celebrated its partnerships with sponsors like Leapfrog Technology Nepal, WorldLink Communications, Hyperce, and Bhoos Games, among others. In-kind supporters, including Herman Helmer’s German Bakery, Frenzie Fries, and I Am The Gardener, contributed to the vibrant atmosphere with delightful food and thoughtful gifts.

Adding a creative touch, Mr. Aaditya Pandey, Campus Director for 2023/2024, engaged the audience with references to popular movies, earning applause for his unique and relatable approach. Excitement peaked with a Nepal Premier League (NPL) ticket giveaway, sponsored by Kathmandu Gurkhas, the campus’s sports partner.

The unveiling of the 2024/2025 theme, “UNLIMITED!!”, was met with enthusiastic applause, signaling the start of a year-long journey of innovation and resilience. The celebration continued with a cake cutting ceremony featuring the Hult Prize logo and theme, followed by engaging giveaways of movie tickets and vouchers.

Attendees left with gifts such as indoor plants and personalized artwork, fostering a sense of appreciation and community. A group photo of the organizing committee and guests concluded the event, cementing the program’s success.
