Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus to Host Second Talk Series Session on Design Thinking

Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus, presented by Hima Aus Offshore, has announced the second session of its ongoing Talk Series, focusing on Design Thinking and Human-Centered Innovation. The session aims to equip participants with practical knowledge to develop solutions grounded in real community needs and lived experiences.

The event will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Embark College, Pulchowk, Lalitpur.

According to the organizers, the session will explore how empathy-driven design approaches can transform ideas into impactful social enterprises. Participants will learn how to refine concepts using human-centered methodologies to ensure products and services effectively address user challenges. The session is expected to be particularly beneficial for teams and individuals preparing for the Hult Prize Challenge 2026, offering actionable insights into user-focused innovation and entrepreneurship.

The featured speaker for the session is Samaya Khadka, a social innovator and youth empowerment advocate. Khadka currently serves as the CEO of Sharing Opportunities, a platform connecting young people with employment and internship opportunities. He is also a co-founder of COVID Connect Nepal, an initiative that provided essential health services to more than 37,000 people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

With over eight years of experience as a trainer and facilitator, Khadka specializes in design thinking and soft skills such as leadership and problem-solving. He has conducted more than 40 training sessions for diverse audiences, ranging from local communities in Nepal to international institutions, including MIT. He has also co-authored research papers on design thinking and innovation.
