Galli Maps Takes Center Stage at NYEF Startup Awards, Kathmandu Chapter

Nepal’s indigenously developed mapping application, Galli Maps, clinched the prestigious NYEF Startup Awards, organized by the Nepal Youth Entrepreneurs Forum (NYEF) Kathmandu Chapter. The culminating event of the NYEF Startup Awards took place at The Salty Kathmandu on Friday, where Galli Maps emerged triumphant as the winner.

In addition to Galli Maps’ victory, PetMama and QuickFox Consulting secured the positions of runners-up. Notably, PetMama received accolades for the Social Enterprise Award, Distance Education, and Audience Speak Award.

The third edition of the NYEF Startup Awards, held on Friday, saw the winning entity being honored with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. The event featured distinguished personalities such as Chief Secretary to the Government of Nepal, Dr. Vaikunth Aryal, and Chandra Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce, who attended as special guests. The program also witnessed the participation of investors and young entrepreneurs from diverse sectors.

NYEF Kathmandu has been steadfastly organizing the startup awards for the past two years, with this year’s edition marking collaboration among all chapters and governing councils of NYEF.

With a substantial pool of 150 applications from across the nation, the Startup Awards meticulously selected the top 20, ultimately narrowing it down to the top 7 startups: Galli Maps, Pet Mama, Blankser, Bibabo, Door Shiksha, QuickFox Consulting, and Bhumithaan.

On the eventful Friday, the top 7 startups presented their innovative ideas, with awards being bestowed upon three startups based on their pitches. Prior to this, the Startup Awards had conducted six expert sessions for the initial selection of the best 20 startups, culminating in the final selection of the best 7 startups based on their compelling pitches.
