Last Updated on by ICT Byte

Certbolt Project Management Professional (PMP) is a globally recognized and respected project management credential provided by the Project Management Institute (PMI). If you’re planning to earn this certificate, you should be armed with the relevant information to make the process seamless for you. The PMI PMP certification process can seem overwhelming and tedious at the first sight, but with the right guide, you can go through it with a minimal hitch. In this post, we’ll share some useful tips to help you apply and obtain your PMP badge.

Step One: Check if You Are Eligible for This Certification

Before you start the certification process, you should first evaluate your eligibility. This is because Certbolt PMI PMP has some stringent requirements that the candidates must fulfill. You must have a four-year degree and at least 36 months of project management experience. You should also have at least 35 hours of formal education. Alternatively, you need to possess at least a high school diploma/an associate’s degree or its global equivalent. Additionally, you need at least 60 months of professional project management experience. 35 hours of formal education is also a must. If you meet either of these requirements, you can proceed with the next step.

Step Two: Complete PMI PMP Online Application

You need to visit the Exam-Labs PMI PMP Certification platform to initiate your application, which will cover your contact information, education, and experience in the field. You must complete the application process within 90 days. When you’ve submitted it, the PMI will review it for approval. You can keep checking the portal to know the status of your application.

Step Three: Make Your Payment

Usually, it takes 5-10 days for the PMI to review your application and check if it meets eligibility criteria. If it is submitted, the company will send you an application acceptance confirmation. Once you receive it, you should proceed with the payment for your exam application. If you register for the test as a Certbolt PMI member, you’ll only pay $405 to take it. As a non-member, you pay an additional $110, making your exam fee a total of $555. The membership of the PMI also gives you free access to the electronic copies of the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide.

Note that your application may be highlighted for an audit. If this happens, you will be required to provide your audit materials within 90 days. These include your diploma certificates and other credentials that you’ve earned while achieving your 35 hours of formal education. If you don’t pass the audit process, your payment will be refunded, less the processing fee of $100. If you pass the audit or you’re not flagged for an audit, you will be prompted to register for your test.

Step Four: Take PMI PMP Certification Exam

When you’ve met the prerequisites for earning the certification and get access to the test, the next step is to schedule and pass it. The PMP exam is a four-hour test with 200 multiple-choice questions. You can sit for it both at the testing venue or from the convenience of your home. Make sure that you have a good webcam and a reliable Internet connection if you choose the latter option.

Conclusion

If you pass the exam, you will be awarded the prestigious PMP certification. If you don’t, you will need to retake your test. You can find the details of the exam retake policy on the official website. To avoid taking the test multiple times, it’s recommended that you use the relevant study materials, including exam dumps and practice tests to prepare for your PMI PMP exam.
