Igniting Change: Unveiling Tools in Social Entrepreneurship at Hult Prize’s Fourth Talk Series

Pulchowk, January 28 – The Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus, successfully hosted the fourth session of its Entrepreneur Talk Series on January 28th. Titled “Tools in Social Entrepreneurship,” the event was held at Embark College and brought together a diverse group of students, young entrepreneurs, professionals, and enthusiasts eager to explore how social entrepreneurship can drive transformative change.

The program kicked off at 1:00 PM with a traditional Khada presentation to the esteemed guests, led by Miss Riyaj Nepal, the Campus Director of Hult Prize at IOE, Pulchowk Campus. Miss Saisha Shrestha, the Outreach and Partnership Lead of the organizing committee, hosted the session, warmly welcoming attendees and setting the tone for an afternoon of inspiration and learning. The event provided a dynamic platform for participants to gain valuable insights and methodologies to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of social entrepreneurship.

The highlight of the session was the engaging talks delivered by two accomplished speakers, Preeti Adhikary and Aabhushan Jyoti Kansakar, whose experiences and insights left a lasting impression on the audience.

Preeti Adhikary: Empowering Global Nepali Talent

The first speaker, Miss Preeti Adhikary, is a trailblazer in connecting global Nepali talent and the founder of The Great Nepali Diaspora. Her initiatives have established 18 chapters, 9 hubs, and successfully organized 150 events worldwide. With over two decades of experience in tech startups, banking, and nonprofits, Preeti shared her journey of building a career that bridges technology and social impact.

As the General Partner of Momo VC and the founder of Empowered Women, Preeti emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to expand outreach and create scalable solutions. She encouraged young entrepreneurs to adopt startup methodologies, such as developing Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), to test ideas quickly and cost-effectively. Her stories of resilience and innovation resonated deeply, inspiring attendees to think beyond conventional boundaries and embrace tools that can drive global impact.

To honor her contributions, Preeti was presented with a handcrafted wooden token of appreciation from CNC Kasthakala Nepal, a plant from The Plant Room Nepal, aromatic perfume from Call Me Aroma, and a delicious sandwich from Kantipur Coffee.

Aabhushan Jyoti Kansakar: A Testament to Resilience and Vision

The second speaker, Mr. Aabhushan Jyoti Kansakar, is the CEO of Jeevee Nepal and a driving force behind six subsidiaries of the DebaJyoti Group. His entrepreneurial journey spans diverse industries, from trade to lifestyle products, and has significantly contributed to Nepal’s economic growth.

Aabhushan shared anecdotes from his entrepreneurial journey, highlighting the challenges and triumphs that shaped his path. He emphasized the importance of adaptability, strategic thinking, and fostering a collaborative entrepreneurial ecosystem. Through his role in Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs, a nonprofit supporting over 800 members, he showcased how entrepreneurship can create jobs, drive economic development, and serve as a force for societal progress.

Mr. Kansakar was also honored with a wooden token of appreciation, a plant, perfume, and refreshments from the event sponsors.
