Vivo Unveils Robotics Lab and Mixed Reality Headset at Boao Forum 2025

Boao, Hainan, March 25, 2025 – The Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025 has commenced, with leading technology company vivo making a significant impact as a strategic partner for the fourth consecutive year. As a newly appointed member of the Boao Forum for Asia Board of Directors, vivo has showcased its latest innovations, including the Blue Technology Matrix (BlueImage, BlueLM, BlueOS, BlueChip, BlueVolt), vivo Vision (its first mixed reality headset), and advancements in 6G technology. Additionally, the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the vivo X200 Ultra, has been named the “Official Smartphone of the Boao Forum for Asia.”

During the “vivo Release Moment” session, Hu Baishan, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and President of the vivo Central Research Institute, delivered a keynote speech titled “Humanity in the Future of Technology by vivo.” He emphasized the transformative role of the mobile phone industry in China’s technological landscape and outlined vivo’s long-term commitment to innovation, human-centered technology, and collaborative growth.

He further stated that robotics could play a crucial role in the industry’s future, combining digital intelligence with physical functionality to enhance human experiences.

In a major announcement, Hu revealed the establishment of the vivo Robotics Lab, aimed at advancing AI-driven robotic capabilities. Leveraging its decade-long expertise in AI, large learning models, and imaging technology, vivo plans to focus on developing the “brain” and “eyes” of robots. The company is committed to bringing robotics technology into everyday consumer applications, targeting personal and home-use robotics.

As part of its foray into mixed reality, vivo has also introduced vivo Vision, marking a milestone in its exploration of immersive technology. The new MR headset showcases vivo’s cutting-edge spatial computing capabilities, setting the stage for enhanced digital interactions. The company’s latest flagship smartphone, vivo X200 Ultra, set for release next month, will incorporate vivo’s most advanced imaging technology to date.
