Finance Minister Barshman Pun announces transform of Bagmati province into a thriving economic center specializing in information technology. This plan was announced during the budget presentation for the upcoming financial year 2081/082 on Tuesday.
Minister Pun outlined that Bagmati province will undergo development as an economic hub in partnership with the private sector, with a specific focus on information technology.
To encourage the growth of IT-based enterprises and boost domestic production while reducing imports and increasing exports, the government will introduce policies aimed at linking production with employment. Minister Pun revealed that a budget of 7 billion rupees has been allocated for this purpose.
The development of information technology has been included as one of the five transformative areas in the budget, indicating the government’s commitment to leveraging technology to drive economic growth and prosperity in Bagmati province.
