Taking a screenshot isn’t a particularly exciting computer task, but it’s a very useful skill to have nonetheless. A screenshot is an image taken of whatever’s on your screen, and it can be helpful at work, necessary for record-keeping.

If you’re taking a screenshot on a Windows PC, then you shouldn’t just be stuck with only one method for doing so. There are many options to take a screenshot other than the Print Screen key. Other options inlcude sending screenshots to onedrive, getting them via the Xbox Game Bar, and so on.

Today we’re going to show you how to take a screenshot on PC. You can take a screenshot on just about any platform, and taking screenshots on Windows PC is no different. It has a built-in option that works great for basic tasks, but other third-party programs come up with offer more ease of use and features. In this article, I’ll tell you few different ways to take a screenshot on a PC.

You can take a screenshot through the various method and here are the few methods which can help you to take a screenshot on a PC.

Take Quick Screenshot with Print Screen (PrtScn)

The simple way to save a copy of whatever is on your entire screen is to simply press the “Print Screen” key on your keyboard, it’s usually labeled “Prtscn”.  It will be copied to the clipboard, your screen will not be saved as a file.  You can paste the screenshot into any program that displays images, like paint or Microsoft word. Furthermore, you can also set the price button to open the snip & sketch tool by going to settings>Ease of Access>Keyboard.

Snip & Sketch

Snip & Sketch is one of the easier tools to take a screenshot on a PC. The easiest way to call up Snip & Sketch is with the keyboard shortcut Windows key+Shift+S.

You can also find the Snip &Sketch tool listed in the alphabetical list of apps accessed from the start button.

If you open Snip & Sketch from the start menu or by searching for it, it will open the Snip & Sketch window instead of the small panel at the top of the screen. Then you’ll see a new button in the upper left and click on it to initiate a screen capture and open the small panel.

Snipping Tool

The snipping tool has been a part of the windows for a long time. This tool was first included in Windows Vista and never got any new features apart from a few bug fixes. To take screenshots, you need to type Snipping Tool in the taskbar’s search field and then select the resulting app. Once it opens, you’ll see a notification that “moving to a new home” in a future update. And also you can use the shortcut key” Win+Shift+S.

With the snipping tool opened, click the Mode button to expand its menu, then you’ll find four screen-capturing options: draw a window, box in an area, capture the current window, and capture the entire screen. In windows 10, the snipping tool has a new “delay” option, which allows you to capture screenshots pop-up menus, and tooltips.

Once you capture a screenshot, you can also edit the image using the snipping tool. When you’re finished editing within the snipping tool, then click on the File in the upper-left corner and then click on the save as option to save the image.

Game Bar in Windows 10

You can use the Game Bar to take a screenshot, whether you’re in the middle of playing a game or not.  Click on the Windows Key+G key to call up the Game bar and tap on the “Yes this is a game” box if prompted. And press the Win+Alt+Prtscr to take a full-screen screenshot. Game bar generates screenshots in PNG format. To set your own game bar screenshot keyboard shortcut to settings>Gaming>Game bar. You’ll also need to enable the Game bar from these settings. If you’re playing a game on stream, you can also press F11 to take a screenshot. It will be added to your screenshots folder on steam.
