Apple announced the Apple iPad 10.2 during the Apple event held on September 15 of 2020. This is the eighth generation version of the basic iPad. This iPad 10.2 is an incremental upgrade to last year’s iPad 2019 with some minor changes. However, the price remains unchanged from the previous version, which makes it even more desirable.
The iPad 10.2 (2020) comes with a 10.2-inch screen and now runs on a more powerful A12 Bionic chipset. The iPad 2020 is the best entry-level iPad to date. What adds even more value to this iPad is that it shares some features with the more expensive iPads like the Apple iPad Air 2020. These features include access to the same games and apps, compatibility with an Apple Pencil, and compatibility with Smart Keyboards.
Even with the upgraded chipset and features, the iPad 2020 is priced at $329 which is the same price as before. Moreover, if you are an education customer, you will be able to get the new iPad for an even discounted price of $299.
This iPad will also run iPad OS 14, which means it will support new features like new Apple Pencil features like hand-written text input. It also comes with a 20W power adapter in the box for fast charging. However, it still comes with a lightning port instead of the USB-C port. It has a Touch ID for security.
Also, another weak point of the iPad 2020 is that it comes with a base storage of 32 GB and the only other option is the 128 GB option. The 32 GB seems insufficient for most people and it would have been better with a base 64 GB option. However, we cannot expect too much considering the relatively cheap price.
