NTA Cyber Security Byelaw, 2077

On 11th September, the  Information Security Response Team Nepal (npCert) will host an open discussion on the topic “Multi Stakeholders Discussion on NTA Cyber Security Byelaw, 2077”.

In the current world, data and information have become very important for technological as well as financial gain. We are also all involved with the digital world in some way or another. However, with more dependency on the digital platform, cybercrime has also affected a diverse number of public and private organizations. The servers and data centers of such organizations are much prone to cyber-attacks.

Therefore, implementing cybersecurity best practices and enforcing cybersecurity laws is very important to protect the information system and infrastructure from hackers. There are various cybersecurity laws like the Electronic Transaction Act, 2063. New cyber-related laws and acts are in the process of an amendment such as the National Cyber Security Policy 2016, and IT Bill 2018.

NTA Cyber Security Byelaw, 2077 is a recent byelaw launched by the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) by meeting cybersecurity standards and by showing best practices to protect IT infrastructure from various malicious attacks and threats to building trust and confidence of users towards using ICT technology and services of NTA.

The “Multi Stakeholders Discussion on NTA Cyber Security Byelaw, 2077” will take place on 11th September, 2020  from 4PM – 5:30 PM.
