We are hosting regular Blockchain meetup sessions to create a platform for blockchain enthusiasts in Kathmandu. This will help us grow the much-needed blockchain community in Nepal. This time we have come up with the theme “Innovation In Finance”. Blockchain technology is a true boon to fintech. As the technological world is intrigued by bitcoin, they are equally fascinated by the promises of blockchain, the technology behind bitcoin. Apart from cryptocurrencies, other use cases of blockchain technology are now beginning to emerge. Particularly in banking and fintech sector, the emergence of blockchain makes much more sense, since these sectors are most advanced and digitized compared to other sectors.

Realizing the potential of blockchain and its most suitable use cases in the banking sector, the opportunity for Nepal to tap into is enormous. Despite its newness, there has been an initiation in Nepal. To highlight the initiation, as well as to get proper knowledge from the industry expert, eSatya has themed the first edition of blockchain meetup 2020 to be around these premises. The presentation will also highlight the challenges of implementing blockchain in the financial sector. The impact and potential of blockchain in the financial sector will be analyzed in this meetup.
