Google won’t store social media photos

Google has decided to save Internet resources. So, yes it won’t be storing social media photos anymore. They will automatically stop storing photos and videos from social media including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

According to a recent decision google photos will now no more automatically back up the videos and photos received through the social media platforms.

After this COVID-19 pandemic, users using Google Photos have been increased and they are seen sharing more photos and videos during this pandemic.

You may be unaware that this application captures the user’s device storage as well as bandwidth.

In order to reduce the pressure on the internet and prevent internet crashes around the world Google took this step like You tube and Netflix did earlier.

Social media platforms and apps include Facebook, Hello, Instagram, LINE, Messages, Messenger, Snapchat, Twitter, Viber, and WhatsApp. This wont be store in Google Photos now.

What about already backed up photos and videos?

Photos and videos which have already backed up to Google Photos will not be affected.
